Xiaomi continues to withdraw update support from older models. It was observed that there are four different Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco models in the updated End of Support (EoS) list. It should be noted that these models are very popular in our country with their affordable price tags.
Xiaomi cuts support for four popular models
With the announcement made by Xiaomi, it was revealed that support was cut from four popular smartphone models, Redmi 9 Prime, Redmi 9C NFC, Poco M2 Pro and Redmi K30 Ultra.
The Chinese manufacturer’s decision means that the four models will no longer receive Android updates, MIUI interface updates or monthly security packages. This will create security vulnerabilities for people using unsupported devices and prevent them from using new features.
Production of Redmi 9 Prime and Redmi 9C NFC models has already been stopped. However, Poco and Redmi’s flagship model M2 Pro and K30 Ultra are waiting for new customers on the shelves.
Security experts say people using unsupported devices should switch to new phones. If you use one of these phones, you can opt for third-party ROMs. But you need to consider potential bugs and security risks.
Xiaomi also cut support for three more models last week. These models included Redmi Note 9, Redmi 9 and Poco M2.
